Registration as a "couple"
In order to use SmartHoneymoon.com, you must first register with us. During registration you are required to give us contact information (such as name, address, phone, email address, and wedding date). We use this information to contact you, if necessary, about your registry, and to send you proceeds from your registry in a timely and accurate fashion. We do not, and will not, sell, trade or give away this information to anyone for any reason. Your information is stored in our active database until 30 days after your registry is closed, at which point it is saved in our archive, for use if required by law. SmartHoneymoon.com is the sole owner of information collected at SmartHoneymoon.com.
We will also give you the option to receive our newsletter via email. You must actively choose to do so (opt in) by selecting that option on the "Create a Profile" page. If you so select, then we will store your name and email address in a newsletter database. You will have the ability to stop receiving the newsletters, thereby removing your name from the newsletter database, by following the link in the newsletter, or by contacting us at CustomerService@SmartHoneymoon.com and requesting to be removed from that list. We do not, and will not, sell, trade or give away this information to anyone for any reason.
Customer service: Based upon the personally identifiable information you provide us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account.
Registration as a "guest"
In order to purchase an item from a registry, you are required to enter personal and financial information, including name, billing address, phone and credit card information. When you enter your personal and financial information on our order form, we encrypt it using secure socket layer technology (SSL) to protect the information. We use this information to help us verify that you are the cardholder, and intend for us to charge your card to purchase this registry item. We use this information for billing purposes only. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you. We will also ask you for your email address so we can send you a receipt and sample gift card. We do not, and will not, sell, trade or give away this information to anyone for any reason. Your information is stored in our active database until 30 days after the couple's registry is closed, at which point it is saved in our archive, for use if required by law. SmartHoneymoon.com is the sole owner of information collected at SmartHoneymoon.com.

Log Files

We use an outside credit card processing company to bill you for your order. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes.

If your personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct, update, delete or deactivate it by making the change on our Couple's Main information page or by emailing our Customer Service at CustomerService@SmartHoneymoon.com, or by contacting us by telephone or postal mail at the contact information listed below.

The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number or password) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use the most recent and best commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
